Before You Go Older Brother…
10 years later…
The day was dark and gloomy over Cybertron, it had been that way for a while now. Days like this were the bane of existence for many Autobots, especially mothers and fathers. It was Graduation Day from the Academy; they were all about to be assigned to their battalions, in their chosen fields of work. Many tears were being shed, and wailing mothers could be heard. Fathers were congratulating their sons, while they tried to keep their bond mates from smothering and embarrassing their offspring.
In the middle of the newly graduated class stood Nexus Prime, Hecate, and Naxos Mar. Naxos had his pack with his newly issued equipment at his feat. He was trying to calm down his sister, and keep Nexus from being too proud of him. Nexus had a face very few actually saw. He was trying to keep a stiff upper lip, and a sense of dignity as he was congratulating his pupil of the past 10 years.
"Kat you cannot come with me! You have to stay here; it's too dangerous for femme's like you to be in war!"
"Nax please let me come with you; please you can't leave me here!"
"Hecate, you will have to stay here with Nexus, he will take care of you like he always has."
"Buh..buh…BUT YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME ALONE! I won't have anyone to hang around with, or to protect me. You know the other femmes are bullies towards me, it's not fair!" she screamed at him through a stream of tears.
Kat was this way when Naxos went to the Academy four years ago. A ball of tears, and a high pitched scream. A scream that wreaked havoc upon any bots audios. Naxos wasn't happy leaving his sister behind. He knew the other femmes always ganged up on her. None of them were tolerant of the way Kat acted. They called her names, terrible names that hurt Kat deeply. Naxos was always there for her though, never letting her down, always keeping the femmes at bay. Though who knows what kind of torture they'd do to his sister now that he was leaving.
"Kat, you have to be strong. You have to promise me you will do that for me." He said lifting her chin up, and embracing her. "You have to be…"
"buh- what if I never see you again, what if you die! What if you get lost! What then?! I'll have no one, not one family member left! What if th-"
"HECATE!" this got Hecate's attention. She stopped her wailing and tried miserably at straightening her pose"Look at me baby sister, look at me!" He gave her a hard look, as he had always done to get her to calm down. "I promise you I won't die, or abandon you forever. I will come back, I'll get through this all for you. I want to be here with you. You know that don't you?"
"yu-yu-yes." She said choking on every syllable.
"Now promise me you will be strong, and that you'll call me as often as you can with your training and all. I'll do the same. I promise. If we do that it will be over faster than you will think."
"I..I..I promise, but you have to make sure you call me at least three times a week. It's not fair that you have to leave and fight those stupid Cons without me!"
"Hecate, I'm guaranteeing you that Naxos will be fine, I've done everything to ensure he has had the best training. You brother will be among the best in his battalion. I've taken great measures to ensure this. He won't be in harms way often, but he will be fighting." Nexus chimed in to their conversation.
Hecate hugged her brother one final time, she squeezed him. She didn't want to lose the one mech I her life that had always been there looking out for her from the beginning. Ever since their parents died that horrible day 10 years ago. If she lost Naxos she would go crazy.
She got on her toes, as he bent down to kiss him on the cheek. Even though they were siblings their size difference made it hard to believe. Naxos was at least five times bigger than Kat. He was larger than Nexus now, at least a whole head taller. To make it even more difficult he was one of the rare Cybertronian Autobots who could fly, Kat couldn't. Though this didn't keep them from being the best of siblings. It thundered, and began to rain heavily. Hecate let go of Naxos. Naxos looked at his step-in father. Hugged him then went off.
As he was walking Nexus called out " Hey kid!"
"What?" He said turning around.
"You'll need this!" Nexus through a long flat package at Naxos.
"What is it?"
"Wait to open it, okay!"
"Thank you." Naxos waved his hand to his sister, turning around shouldering his pack and package and walked off towards the ship that'd begin his lifelong journey in the consuming war known as the War for Cybertron.
